I wonder if current Keighley Cougars Chairman Gary Fawcett would consider inviting a big hitter onto the board as Non-Executive Chairman with Mr Fawcett himself moving across to be Managing Director? This might be helpful, among other things, when applying for public money for a new stadium. Names? Geoffrey Richmond? Ann Cryer? Howard Carter? Chris Caisley ? ........

Ann Cryer would be an interesting proposition though.

It would need to be someone of standing, with "people" skills and who could "open doors".

Remember there is still a councillor kicking around with a grudge against us.

She has been involved down here before as an original trustee of the Community Foundation and she certainly took a keen interest in what was happening at the Cougar Pride Centre when we were still operating

In Gary's defence I have to say that if there is any work to do, however hard or unpleasant it may be, he is the first to roll his sleeves up and get stuck in. I have seen him clearing the pitch of snow, marking the pitch, having a go at blocked sewers and other 'glamorous tasks'. Wonder how many rugby chairmen would do that? Credit where it is due.
