Very true but IIRC we didn’t actually ever get round to announcing the players we retained last season. I don’t think we ever said we’d kept Boafo and Williams they just appeared in the squad list and they only mentioned Ogden’s retention via some story about his hopes to get into Jamaica (I think) World Cup squad.

The key is in the statement above, if he has retained 2 and one of them is enjoying being a teacher then that could qualify as most.



I think the club know that people will base buying season tickets (no matter how cheap) on the squad we have, not on the fact we are playing an a shiny new stadium. I would imagine if the season starts late Jan, they need to get ST offers out mid Nov, which is only 2-3 weeks away. So not much time to get a squad togther if they are expecting > 100 ST to be sold

Some of those leaving are the ones I thought may stay (going down the young academy route). Looks like we cant even keep hold of them

Good to see Batley, according to LE, have retained 19 and are expecting another 12 new faces- one of whom has been a LB regular for a couple of seasons with no obvious replacement in sight. They’ve got no hope. They should get on board with our approach. I can’t wait to pick up an ST.

This season's playing contracts run until the end of November.



I presumed that those announced as leaving have actually signed contracts for next season with their new clubs, whereas others whilst agreeing moves may not yet have signed.

Leigh Centurions are delighted to confirm that Jacob Jones becomes the latest addition to the playing squad ahead of the 2022 Betfred Championship campaign.



Jacob Jones said: “I started out playing Rugby Union but watched Super League on television and the game really appealed to me. I had a trial at London Broncos and was signed by them before being loaned to Coventry for a season. That season was great for me personally and I went back to Broncos and forced my way into the first team. I can’t thank Danny Ward and Jamie Langley enough for all the help they gave me with coaching and development. The set up at Leigh is quality and I can’t wait to get out there and play in front of the fans.”

Interesting he mentions them, and not London as a club. Although I am a big fan of both Danny and JL

Sam Davis also specifically mentioned Danny Ward and Jamie Langley as key in improving his game.

Obviously TT and the fitness manager who stepped up to assistant didn’t make as big an impact. In fairness that was a very difficult ask for them . Think it would be harsh if they were made scapegoats especially as the blame lies with the decision makers I’m afraid.

Nothing yet on who Coleman’s back room staff will be let alone playing staff. We do seem very sluggish on recruitment compared to other teams.
