Who remembers when Sky first started covering R.L.?
I think they first started showing games at 6 on a Sunday...(Leeds and Hull away stand out as great wins for Wire at that time)

I think sky also recorded games 3pm and shown them later that night..

And many years ago towards the end of the season Stones Bitter Championship games on a Saturday covered by I.T.V. with Clive Tyldesey as the commentator..

Not to sure if the Green and Red kit was in the 80's but i know which kit you mean, we had the Green and White for home games didn't we, it had Greenalls along the front.

Green and White wasn't the home kit and the green and red was early 90's.

What was the home kit when Green and White was the away kit then

Fine sentiments, but impossible. Any 'huge backers' out there would be looking for a subscription TV model to make money, as terrestrial commercial TV is in an adverting downturn so bad they are losing money. We can always hope that the RFU gets too greedy for the Beeb, leaving them courting RL as their only rugby option. I think we'll have to be happy with the Challenge Cup on the Beeb for now - we have only to wait for the weekend to see what this year's coverage is like.

I remember the Floodlit Trophy being midweek, with highlights on "Sportsnight with Coleman"

I was thinking more along the lines of ITV buying it ( they bought the last few RU World Cups ) by outbidding the BBC ( ITV have saved the F1 money now) and thus creating a Beeb 'rugby gap'. Even that is extremely unlikely, however.
