In fairness every idea theyve suggested the SL chairmen have decided they know better. The loop games and Magic Weekend have been so huge that SL has kept on growing with broadcasters throwing money at the game...
I do think we need to see more of what they are planning to do on the Marketing front though, franchises alone wont get the turnstyles clicking
IMG: "we think you should scrap magic weekend" SL clubs: "no thanks, we can make a bit more income from selling a special shirt"
IMG "you should scrap loop fixtures to make other games more exciting and stop repetitive fixtures, making it more attractive for future TV deals and sponsors and improve player welfare"
SL clubs "no thanks, we like the extra income, the fans won't mind playing hull kr 5 times in a season"
SL fans "IMG are doing nothing and their challenge cup proposals are a disgrace too, they'll ruin a competition that struggles to attract crowds throughout all rounds including it's showpiece final at Wembley"
Just about sums it up, IMG will be able to achieve very little whilst the SL chairmen continue to think short term and do what they can to protect their club rather than think long term
A lot that the average fan won't see behind the scenes. Lenagan spoke about them in depth on Wigan tv early this year, unfortunately that is locked behind a Wigan paywall so most from other clubs probably didn't see it. This article has a few quotes though from what was quite a long conversation regarding them.

It was going to be in 2021 until the vote took a complete turnaround a few weeks later when clubs decided to turncoat when they realised that Leigh was doomed to the championship after a few losses. Karma will repay one of those clubs now, and a 14 SL won't happen.
