He wouldn't be in his current situation if it wasn't for Jon Sharpes tactics at Fartown, quite why he followed him to Hull i can't comprehend. At one point he was one of the top points scorers in Superleague on the back of his goal kicking, and he wasn't bad at field kicking either, he was also a good defensive organiser at fullback, but I think a lot of people are right, when he's confident he's a good player, when he's not he spends half the game in a dream world.

Or Flash, as I know him.

As someone posted. He's a confidence player, and right now it's at rock bottom.

I'd have him in place of Usain Deacon.

Thorman was a great player, even a couple of years ago. Unfortunately he has played for two teams whose fans seem to be made up almost entirely of negative, abusive morons. I would be very surprised if anyone could perform given the amount of unfounded abuse Thorman has got over the last few seasons.

If it hasn't worked by now, it never will! I'm all for reaching out to a wider audience with our game but not at the expense of historical clubs in the homelands.

To pick just one example, Thomas Lee. As a teenager he was taking at least as much abuse, to the extent that his name was being booed when the teams were read out. He had enough bottle to continue through it though and the majority of idiots in the crowd now seem to realise that he's not a bad player.

Thorman, on the other hand, is terrible. It's the lack of effort, particularly in defence, that is the worst thing. I can accept a lack of skill/ability in players, but when someone is pulling out of tackling, not putting themselves in the line of fire for the team, that's going too far.

I've never rated him as a player (a couple of decent games over a long career at the top level is not enough) and couldn't believe we signed him after his terrible showings last year in particular, but I've never seen him be so unwilling to put his body on the line. That's not something that has a place in the game and hopefully we've seen the last of him at Hull now.

Can't think of a worse 40 minutes ever from a player than Thorman first half tonight.

Thorman was awful tonight, didnt even appear interested

Sounds like a player John Kear usually takes on, low on confidence but has ability, and if he keepsplaying like that he will be cheap enough so they can afford him
