| Deacon was just awful tonight. Looks a pale imitation of the GB player he was a few seasons ago.
Time to play the reserve half back. Oh wait.... he just signed for Catalan.

Funny guy, . His defence was an improvement from last week, but have to agree he was pi$s poor.

| Well we couldnt do anything about Bird but I agree our halves are shocking, we need some quality in there desperately.

| To be fair to Deacon he doesn't have a decent half back partner to offload some work onto.
If Deacon had a good, direct running and link-up stand off along side him then he'd be able to control things off acting halfback and lay the platform correctly.
However, Ben Jeffries isn't a good, recognised 5/8th and the duo simply don't compliment each other.
Missing out on Greg Bird is massive blow for Bradford.

My beef is that we don't have any replacement. There's no competition for places. What would we do if Deacon gets injured?

Just chuck Morro or Menzies in there which looks to be Macca's plan for the season.

I though us missing out on him was a big blow to us untill a young man called Sam Tomkins took the field.

Drop him as captain and let him concentrate on his game, morrison would be so much better and is more vocal.

| Deacon had a terribel game but that is once a flood. he has one bad game for every 50 good games so it is a tad unfair to get on his back for one shocker.

I agree with most of that matey - except the fact that Deacs had a bad game First of all - he played behind a rubbish set of forwards, second - he cannot be expected to carry the team EVERY week, & thirdly - learn how to spell Terrible

| It is easy to get on Deacon's back after tonight, he was absolutley shocking, even by his own low standards. How anyone can say he is usually good is beyond me. Jeffires is also getting his usual slagging elsewhere. I thought Jeffries was easily the best Bulls back, his kickng is very poor, admittedly. He ran his blood to water. He was responsible for both Bulls tries, on the first getting involved 3 times down Deacon's side of the pitch. He was also cruelly denied by the ref when Menzies (who I was disappointed in) broke through. I can only think of Deacon taking on the line once, Jeffries countless times. Deacon seemed fearless in defence yet terrified of attacking, like a man who knows his limits. He passes the ball along the line then stands back, Jeffries passes it then is immediately looking for the next option.

| Jefferies at least ran and tried to find gaps. Deacon just hoofed the ball badly towards the wigan players. He's not been the player he was since his injury in the tri-nations. But what can we do? We've no back up half-backs so he can't be dropped
