I'm not surprised given how the weather has been up here. Even if it'd had gone ahead, I doubt anyone would have had an enjoyable time unless they went "quack"

Quote:Dear fifty50 Thank you for your suggestion that we move the Carol Concert to Summer. This has been carefully considered by H&S but carries an unacceptable level of risks. Clearly heatstroke and dehydration would be almost inevitable. Persons singing further run the risk of throat damage, asthmatic attack etc due to soft tissue inflammation caused by high pollen count. This is even without factoring in the threat posed by the sun, which may well be both present and at a dangerously low elevation (skin cancer, blindness etc etc). Then there is the risk of food poisoning if the canapes go off in the warmth. Our insurers would never cover this, even if we were so foolhardy as to expose wassailers to these risks.

Thinking things through has always been my problem, this is why these sort of forums are invaluable to make sure that all bases are covered. I think if new board post their board meeting agendas on here for comment prior to the meetings they will have that invaluable input.
Be careful what you wish for, one day you may get it!
