| My take from the game.
I saw a lot of tired body's. We started extremely well. Two quick fire tries in the first 6 Min from Ablett and Sinfield. Couldn't see the first try but, leading to the second was a excellent kick from the play of the ball for a 40-20 from McShane, who had a fantastic game at hooker.
After the two tries Leeds struggled to gain any territory and handling errors cost us field position. Warrington ran harder and a better side would have scored more points against an under strength Leeds. Warrington equally had their problems with handling errors.
From our starting 13 it was only Scott Donald who had not come through the Leeds academy. Any attacking moves we tried went down the right to Watkins and Donald. Gibson and hall on the other wing were just bystanders for large periods of the game.
Warrington came back at Leeds with tries from Briers and Higham and their try just before the half time hooter was not a good sign. They were in the ascendancy. After half time for 20 Mins we were camped in our own half struggling to make any ground largely due to a tired pack. Peacock took a knock in the first half and did not return for the rest of the game. Our stand out forward was Bailey, apart from a bit of scrapping, had a very good game.
Our defence held and what looked like try save tackle after try saving tackle ensued. We had one attack in this 20 Mins after half time, a fantastic break from Sinfield who at the crucial point decided to kick forward instead of passing on the inside to our supporting players.
The pressure finally paid off for Warrington and Hicks crossed for their 3rd try. A massive over lap allowed him to stroll in. But he again missed the conversion taking it to 14 - 14.
We then started to play, we were running from dummy half and our forwards were making the ground we needed. Our kicks were turning their full back Riley and on the 70th Min it paid off. A fantastic chase and tackle from Lee Smith (I think) caused Riley to spill the ball to McGuire who was almost through and looked to be tackled. But the Warrington tacklers fell off and he was free to scamper to the line! Sinfield kicked the extras and at 20 - 14 it set up a tense last 10 Mins.
Our defence held out and a win when we clearly were not at our best is always encouraging.
My man of the match - Ryan Bailey.

Can you tell the difference between Watkins and Gibson?

Diskin (Neck), Kirke (Ankle) and Senior (Shoulder) apparently and none expected to be long term problems at this stage.

| Still not been persuaded that Hall deserves a sub 17 shirt number.
He has a great work-rate and good strength but the skills are just not there yet.

| Reading the report in the YEP reminded me to add another entry to the Ganson rule book - kicking the ball direct at another players face is deemed to be the opposing player playing at the ball and 6 more tackles.

I think the rule Ganson applied was ‘attempted charge-down’ although I don’t know if Smith knew he was ‘attempting a charge-down’ at the time.
