Great news, another parasite to pay for.

Congratulations to her and William, but I'm going to hate with a passion the bordering on perverted newspaper headlines and articles.

I'm sure it's wonderful for the couple concerned – and all the best to them and the newbie – but why is anyone else supposed to be any more engaged by it than they are by any other pregnancy outside of their own immediate circle of family or friends?



There's actually something deeply unhealthy about the voyeurism that will now be encouraged for the rest of the pregnancy – and beyond.



Honestly – don't you already feel for the child who will (assuming everything continues healthily) result? Talk about a bleedin' goldfish bowl.

Because it's the future King or Queen. And although I doubt many of us posting on these forums will be around to see them take the throne, it is the future of our country.

Oh yes – that excuses voyeurism! I'd forgotten that, you little voyeurist, you!



I actually feel for the couple – and for the forthcoming tot. Christ – living your life in a goldfish bowl so that ... what? A load of inadequates can get off on your inadequacy?

Unfortunately we have little say as to who we are born to. The child will live a life of untold riches and glamour. In return, their every action will be subject to scrutiny.



The press have realised that they cannot keep hounding people ala Diana. Hopefully William, Kate, and whoever is to come, will be a beneficiary of this.

Well she has done her job now, taken over from Di as a brood mare to improve the looks of the royal line.



Pop another one out and then she will be surplus to requirements like the last one.

Surely an extended stay in hospital so early on in a pregnancy is not normal.



Don't wish to tempt fate, but would not surprise me if there were complications.

Having been through a couple of pregnancies that were not straightforward (well, ok, havign stood back and watched the wife go through a couple of pregnancies that were not straightforward) and having possibly lost one in between then that was my first thought too but actually its very normal.



She isn't even twelve weeks pregnant yet and this is a very risky time, however some random doctor on the radio tonight was saying that severe morning sickness (which is the complaint being stated) can lead to dehydration in the mother and I'd guess they are keeping her in for that reason.



On the other hand lots of mothers-to-be will have gone through the whole "bed rest" thing in the early weeks, desperately trying to hang onto their newly discovered pregnancy, especially on their first - we were told in 1988 that the figure was as high as 1 in 3 who lost a very early foetus, sometimes before the pregnancy has even been discovered - its not as straightforward as many assume.

What a load of crock.
