Sorry, couldn't resist. I'd have made the same joke about Hessle Foreshore had we been interested, so don't take it personally.
Hastings would be a good signing for super league.

| Nothing taken personally Mr Faithful..I came on here today hoping for some clarification that we MIGHT actually sign a half back..and boy do we need one...but it all seems to be smoke and mirrors at the moment, rumour, rumour, rumour, and nothing concrete seems to be happening(or does it?)
Just a bit frustrating. As always I,ll believe things when I see them.

The Addy loss was massive as I think he'd have ended up playing there alongside McGuire despite what some say about him being a loose forward. Unfortunately, things like that can't be preempted. I guess they thought Marsh and Atkin would be a suitable short term replacement. My worry for rovers is the lack of decent forwards. As has been said, you can have the best halfbacks in the world but if the forwards get mullered each week it's going to make their job very hard.

A good pack can often make poor halfbacks look alright. It rarely happens the other way around. Marsh/Atkin and McGuire aren't the worst partnership in the world if you can find a couple of high quality forwards to give them a platform.

| Interesting comment in league Express about our well documented search for a half back.
Maybe we should be looking at Matty Smith , who seems to have dropped down St Helens pecking order.
Maybe on a season loan. Given that I think Atkins is good enough to be our SH for a long time.

| Sheens made an enquiry about Todd Carney according to HDM. Luckily (for Rovers) he wants to play in the NRL.

| I thought we was very close to signing a Aussie half back I hope it is not Carney he is a big risk he on his day is class but after seeing him at cats and Salford looks likes his days have gone. Atkin looked alright at Leeds but still think we need another quality half back

Quote ="Marcus's Bicycle"What about persuading Michael Dobson to come back for a season?'"
Here's what he said on leaving Salford:
[iI've been thinking about it for the last year and I've got a young family and it's time to take the family home.
I've been here for 10 seasons now and we're just ready to go back, settle down and take a step back from full-time rugby league and move onto the next phase.
I'm going to play a little bit semi-professionally back in Australia and working within another club trying to get my foot in the door within the realm of coaching and development.
Salford coach Ian Watson added: While we hoped Dobbo may change his mind, his decision to take his family home is the right one for him but as a person, and a player, he will be greatly missed.[/i
It sounds like he's moved on and has a plan.
He was contracted to Salford for this season (4 seasons from 2015), so even if he wanted to come back, I can't see it being straight forward. Salford won't want another Joel Moon situation, and I don't think Dobson is that sort of person.

Hopefuly that will put the Michael Dobson question to bed once and for all.

You say that but he left Rovers with a year still on his contract by playing the ‘going home’ card only to rock up at the AJ within a year.
Having said that, it sounds like he has a plan and good luck to him, was a great servant for us.

Aye, I suppose. But it felt to me that he genuinely wanted another crack at the NRL, just as Josh Hodgson did when he went the following year.
And he did a season over there, whereas Moon moved straight to Leeds.
Kris Keating turned out to be an oddly inadequate replacement for Dobson. Not out-and-out bad, a bit overweight maybe but not quite Albert Kelly in early 2016, and he seemed to trying. Still only 29 now. I guess some players just lose their mojo in one way or another.

| I’m surprised that they haven’t enquired about Jordan Lilley as he’s definitely down the pecking order at Leeds.
