Apparently loads of the passes have to be reprogrammed and people were only finding this out as they tried to go through the turnstiles. There was such a crowd waiting at the office near Kick Off that they eventually had to be waved though again.

You also believed the last statement by the club proclaiming the whole thing was a complete success and you boasted that only 1% had been affected. When it subsequently transpires that people were just waved through v Salford and that 1,000 were impacted according to a turnstile operator, you'll forgive a bit of cynicism about the latest claim that "all issues have been fully investigated".

Seems you were misinformed then, saying that only 1% were affected. Although if they just opened the gates due to the emerging barcode shambles, perhaps they couldn't capture the full extent of the issues. The website does seem a tad bullish and pretty much inconsistent with fans' experiences though. "Sunday once again proved that forgeries will not be accepted." - er, what does just opening the gates letting people in anyway count as then?

Certain passes are still not working. This is mainly because they have the incorrect data on them eg. an adult pass printed as a junior pass etc. After checking, those that proved to be forged or attempted to be used twice were turned away, whilst those with genuine passes that didn't work, were let in 'un-scanned'.



So the system is working reasonably well at this stage. It was a poor turn out on sunday, no doubt, but it wasn't helped by the fact that a number of genuine passholders attended, but weren't recorded on the 'official' attendance.

surely, even though passes/tickets aren't being scanned the club are still counting how many people are entering the gound?

Yeah from a safety point of view they will make sure stands don't exceed capacity, but officially the attendance is recorded at the turnstiles.
