Quote ="Pickering Red"That's a fair synopsis of the game and our gutsy and committed performance Goose.
My wife and I went with our friends and close neighbours who are all Rhinos fans. So we were 2 red shirts in a sea of blue and yellow in The Carnegie Stand and I was making more noise in that first half on my own than the entire rest of the stand. The Leeds fans were shocked but also impressed at how easy we were putting points on them on the flanks. For a 15000 crowd, the game had half the atmosphere of the average Rovers home game.
Second half, different story. Leeds tightened up and along came you know who. What a difference Rob Burrow made to Leeds. The final result didn't reflect our overall parity. 3 soft tries conceded and 4 conversions missed and 50 minutes without the impressive Ken Sio. We need extra runners to support forward breaks.
I was impressed with Boudebza again and young Holker looked full of energy and urgency. Greenwood looks a reasonable acquisition. McCarthy looked tired and Larroyer ineffective.
Overall though, we are a good team to watch this year, but we will need some of our injured players back soon or else we will keep losing (mostly narrowly).'"
Our best 17 will match anyone, but our overall squad strength is bottom 4 in my opinion, if we stay fit we can be in a good position, but with the quality of players out injured and the cover on offer being too 'light' we will be bottom 4 if we don't get players back soon. When I looked at our pack at the start of the season and saw Weyman, Allgood etc, I thought we could give it a real good go with the backs we have, but how quickly things alter. We need another prop if we can get one.
