seems a fair reflection to me; pre-season games mean nothing - ie spurs last season are the best example

i know this is a rugby forum but thought i'd have my 2 pennorth about said subject.
side that gets promoted and at present has only actually paid a fee for 1 striker (daniel cousin, if you can call him that) in one full season and a pre season just isnt going to survive!!!!

Maybe it's something to do with the fact that the chairman doesn't want to live beyond the club's means. When you see Portsmouth selling nearly £80million worth of players in 9 months and still in debt, it makes you realise that running a club along sound business principles is a very good idea, despite the fact it may result in relegation.
