I agree with Jemmo in that most of the DonsNews postings are perhaps seen more as announcements rather than discussion points.



DonsNews is certainly doing a very good job keeping us posted on events - cheers, mate. Keep up the good work.



Perhaps we ought to be a little more active in posting our thoughts like S/O said. Let's hope for a good turnout at the Players Evening - but I suspect it'll be the same die hards that will attend. I'm not sure what initiatives could be used to tempt new folk down.

Just to give everyone an update with regards to the meet the players evening next Friday (3rd Feb). You cannot buy tickets on the evening at the Dome, please contact Ray Green on either 01302 765888 or 07506 647571 or pop into the Dons office at the Keepmoat for your ticket(s).



As it stands now, the club are considering to cancel the event due to a lack of interest. This is something the Dons clearly do not wish to do however, we cannot run an event at a loss. If it came to this then it would be a huge disappointment for everyone connected with the club and would cast a doubt on organising similar events like this where fans and supporters can interact with the players and coaching staff.



The club will regretfully cancel the event on noon next Monday (30th Jan) if ticket sales do not significantly increase between now and then. Thank-you for your co-operation.

Shame if it does not go ahead , missed the presentation evening due to illness.



Good food & organisation I am told.

It wouldn't send a very positive message to the players if this gets cancelled!



I didn't have enough cash on me to get some tickets after the Eagles game. I'll be popping down to the club to get a couple of tickets.



DonsNews - it would be helpful if people could buy the tickets online from the Dons' website rather than have to go down to the Keepmoat. The tickets could be collected on the evening at The Dome.



Who else intends going but hasn't got tickets yet?



How many more do we need to attend to make sure it goes ahead?

Double Movement - if you ring Ray (01302 765888 or 07506 647571) I'm sure you will be able to come to some kind of agreement where he can meet you to purchase tickets for the night. Ray will also be at China's testimonial on Sunday and he will have tickets with him then.



We appreciate that it's hard for a lot of you to get down to the Keepmoat during the week and we also appreciate that January is always a struggle for a lot of us financially after the festive period.



The club lost out financially at last season's presentation evening as people had rang up and ordered tickets to be paid for on the evening but didn't turn up for whatever reason. The club had already ordered the food for those people so I hope everyone can appreciate why we need the ticket money to be paid up front.



It promises to be a great night and as always, we appreciate your continued support and we're all working hard behind the scenes to take the club forward. Thanks - Mark

I got two tickets off Ray after China's game on Sunday.



He told me that 33 tickets have been sold for Friday and they're looking to get to at least 50 in total to make it viable.



If you've not got a ticket please try to get there. It would be awful if it had to be cancelled.

I got 6 tickets yesterday, hopefully more people will decide to come

Meet the Players Evening Update



The Dons are pleased to announce that Friday's meet the player event at Doncaster Dome will go ahead. The club are almost at their target for ticket sales and have decided that it would be unfair to cancel the event for the people who have already paid for their tickets.



Ray sold quite a few tickets at China's testimonial game yesterday but it would be good for the players if we could sell another 20 or so tickets. It promises to be a great evening and it's YOUR chance to get to know the players and to have your photo taken with them.

Thought the entire atmosphere within the squad seemed a lot better than it has done in the past, lots of smiles on faces and lots of laughing and joking. Paul Cooke seemed eager to get going, and Craig Robinson was more than ready for the season to start.

Ray Green made us laugh when he interviewed Tom Hodson. He said something like, "Welcome to the club, son. You've made a good impression with the fans in the pre-season games scoring some good tries. (slight pause) We're just a bit worried that you seem to lack half a yard of pace though!"
