Not many. I would imagine most of the games will be Championship as they were on Sky.

Championships games - 32 (inc NRC)



Looks like they are just trailing the Championships for the first year as NRL was only shown 40times in the First Premier Sports season and now they are up to about 160games being shown, 4 times the original slot.

I don't have good vibes about this new arrangement with Premier Sports.



When Championship rugby was with Sky, the lower leagues would pick up interest from Super League fans, and the general profile of lower league rugby was raised somewhat. This probably won't happen now. I can't imagine many Super League fans signing up to Premier Sports to watch Championship rugby.



I suspect viewing figures will be considerably less with Premier Sports. We're all having to pay the equivalent of around 75% of our Dons season ticket to view the games, which would have been included in most people's normal Sky Sports subscription. The lower viewing figures, and lack of exposure on Sky, will mean Championship rugby is less attractive to potential club sponsors.



If Premier Sports was available on Freeview, or Virgin, it may have opened the doors to potential new viewers. It's not available on either - which means it is Sky Sports customers mainly who will be joining up.



I hope the RFL have thought this through properly or else we could find that Premier Sports coverage flops, and Sky don't want us back.



I'll be signing up to Premier Sports. I wish them every success and hope their coverage does the games justice. I still have my doubts as to whether this is a good move for Championship clubs though.

I was going to sign up with premier in any case this season just for the NRL games but adding the CC games has made it even more of a good deal. 170 NRL games sounds good to me.

I am not interested in NRL games and I am not going to pay for 32 Championship games, since we are not even in that division.

As a Sky Sports customer who got Championship games thrown in with my package last year, I am not best pleased.



I watched championship games out of curiosity more than desperately wanting to anyway, so I am not that bothered.

I think Stand-Offish's view is very much in line with what a lot of people will think.



I'm not into the NFL and have no interest in that. I enjoy watching the Championship on Thursday night which is why I'll cough up the dosh ... but I'd rather it be part of the Sky package I already pay for.

I am quite amazed at the apathy people have to watching the Australian NRL. It is the premier RL competion in the world, miles ahead of Super League. I will be going with Premier but not bother with Skysports. I suppose it's whatever takes your fancy.

Clubs outside of Super League spent years campaigning to be able to break away from the Sky deal and to be able to negotiate their own, now we have got that we're not happy!

Premier Sports aren't exactly going to set the rugby world on fire with their "vast" viewing figures.



It seems like a backward step unless there are things that we don't know about.



Did Sky offer to cover games but the Championship chose Premier Sports because they thought they were a better option, or were Premier Sports the only company interested in covering us?

Just one fine point if I may make so bold.

Clubs are not individual viewers are they.

If I want to view this as an individual as well as have my Superleague, I have to pay more.

I don't see that as progress from a purely selfish point of view.

So I won't pay more and that is one less viewer.



If I was a NRL fan (yawn), I would think it a cracking deal, but I'm not, so I don't.



If the clubs (going back to what you referred to) get more revenue from this then fine, good luck to them.

But I can't see many ragging in Sky and the Superleague for this package, nor do I see many paying dual subscriptions.

Some will of course, we will see how successful it will be.

My opinion is it will appeal to a niche market only. But there are many NRL fans out there, so who knows.

i watched nrl when premier was part of sky package but havent watched it now for nearly 2 years i think it got more predictable than sl ok there was some big hits but it was more about defence and forcing other team to make mistakes than creative flare which is why i wasnt bothered apart from state of origin which is prob the best compitition in rugby! but thats shown on sky so ill stick with sky

Come to my senses £700 plus is too much for Sky , the money will go towards holidays instead . No Premier Sports for me either . Will have to make do with live rugby at a stadium !

If the media reports are true the Rugby Football League will not receive any payments from Premier Sports for the whole of the three year deal.

I think that this is perhaps the best post of all.

I watch Sky 10% of the time (and only for sport) and TV licence stuff for 90% of the time.

For that privilege I pay Sky five times as much money as I do the TV licence channels.

I must be mad ... please do not confirm this.



I too need to stop this madness and put that money towards holidays instead.

I am not that bothered about Superleague.

I will discuss this with my good lady tomorrow.

Although to be fair, I think that the Sports package amounts to about £300 a year. Still that's a sizeable amount.

At least I will cancel the TV part of my package.

Times are hard and Sky is a luxury.

Do what I do and cancel when your contract is up. 18 months ago they gave me half price Sky Package including all Sky sports £21. This ran out at the end of Super League etc. They have given mw the same deal till January where I will pack in again. If they dont do it I will still pack the lot in.

Cannot see any Championship 1 games on TV.
