Quote Wanderer="Wanderer"Called in at Wakefield (Wednesday) on the way back from Leeds and had a pint of Clarks Westgate Gold in Henry Boons. They only had pales and goldens but I was pleasantly surprised with my choice.
Back in Doncaster later ...
Red Lion ... Elland First Light 3.7%
Angel ... Titanic Nautical Mild 4.8% x 2
Gatehouse ... Pheasantry DA (Dark Ale) 4.2% & Pheasantry Ringneck Amber Ale 4.1%
The 2 Pheasantry brews were excellent ... The Brewery (one I don't recall hearing of previously) is at Newark.'"
Just to put you right on the Pheasantry front. The brewery is actually a fair bit closer to Donny. It's just off the A57 at East Markham on the road to Lincoln...you are bang on about the quality of the beers though

Easily found, signposted at the side of the road..bit of a dirt track to get to it, but worth the effort.
They're on frequently at the Black Lion in Todwick. First tasted them at York Beer Festival last year.
Tonight I have tasted two brews new to me, one from the fledgling Harthill Brewery, Hart Stopper - a citrusy, thirst-quencher and Whim Black Christmas, a dangerously-drinkable 6.3%, chocolatey and very moreish, at the Arkwright Arms, Sutton-cum-Duckmanton
