Pretty dire looking for a decent ale house in Lincolnshire at the weekend, barring the Ship Inn at Surfleet where we stayed overnight. I took a trip out to East Butterwick to the Dog and Gun, where I'm pleased to say I finally bumped into the mildly-eccentric Dixie of Dixie's Marine ales fame and had a very nice pint of his Red Duster. I then sampled Great Heck's White Rabbit, which was a little hoppy (pardon the pun ) for my liking, and the much more palatable, Beartown Bearass at the River Don Tavern, Eastoft, where coincidentally, they are putting up a tremendous fight against proposed windfarms in the area, S-O.

Stancil India Ruby Ale 4.0% & Pheasantry Best Bitter 3.8% both enjoyable and currently available in the Gatehouse.

A couple of new ones sampled last night in Leeds ... Little Valley Vanilla Porter 4.5% (Head of Steam) Andwell 5 Little Fishes 4.0% (Scarbrough Hotel) both very nice indeed. /> Also had both Rudgate Ruby Mild and Leeds Midnight Bell in the Leeds Brewery Tap. www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_smile.gif" alt="icon_smile.gif" title="Smile" />

The Tut had one new to me last night ... Truman's Runner, a Best Bitter at 4.0% ... absolutely wonderful.
