Of course we need a few more but sort out a good Hooker and we'll be a much better side than last year. It's easy to forget how well we progressed and injuries we had (especially Briscoe) and adding Kevin Brown does add a hell of a lot to our attack!

A Secondrower is a must, as we will struggle if get a few injuries in that postion.Leuluai is just not good enough at this level.Hooker,Centre,and possibly one prop, as Gerrard still developing.Be interesting how White and Coyle interchange but i like someone quality in this postion.Dixon or Tickle be nice if Hull release or find another Secondrower.

Mmmm doesnt like were signing any body then , apart from Brown , mellor and marsh been with us all season so dont see them as new signings, seems all the high grade been signed up then only the poop left

I wouldn't worry just yet. The club could be negotiating a few things overseas and as always some of what we might be trying to do depends on a bit of other business being done before it. I genuinely don't think we've finished yet.



Just wait and see. Ideally we would like all of our business done nice and early but the main thing is adding quality that will improve the squad. We're probably in that unfortunate position again of trying to convince better players to move to a side that finished bottom last year.

Dr chim thanks for that , well hope thats the case with Cull going hope its not for other reasons , id like some Big props like Mark O meally type , and Danny Tickle would be a great signing and even though i like Shaun Briscoe feel hes a bit battered with injuries

We don't need to overhaul every year, it never works. We started to play well last season, we just need to tinker a little I think. One or two fresh faces nothing major needed just yet.

I agree chris But if we dont kick on next year with recruits will put the club under immense pressure to perform in the 3rd and most important year ,they need to be gelling next season as we know can take a good season to do that , and after a dreadful start last season with injuries and sackings off two of our strongest signings hopefully well kick on

Mick a good thing is most are retained from last year and we did start to gel more in the 2nd half of the season.We can not keep changing all the time, but a few quality additions and getting rid of dead wood is important.I think if we can sign 2 or 3 more of quality and lucky on injuries we could come about 9th.

Well its the 1st of November and pre season has started and we have Kev Brown thats it, if were to progress we need another 2 players coming in (outside back and back row). Thankfully Salford are worse than us at the minute so that should hopefully see us dodge another wooden spoon.



On a different angle this is the first time in a looooooooooong while we've had a settled squad of players without loads of ins and outs so it could also benefit us.

Whilst I agree that Mika and Mason would be useful additions VM would you not agree that we need a "McShane" quality hooker or else we will lose some of the zip around the park that we had during his time with us. I am sure that White will be OK and is particularly dangerous near the line, but his distribution was nowhere near as sharp as McShane. I see that as a higher priority than any other position and the one area that we would have gone backwards in from last season if its not resolved.

There was a suggestion on TIW which could be an option - that is using Gore (beefed up ) as hooker. He certainly has the SH's eye for defensive gaps but may not be quick enough for SL at SH.



Friendlies could be a good place to try him out?

I like any other Widnes fan would love to see mcshane back but it isn't going to happen and there isn't any other quality hookers around so we'll have to stick with what we have. As suggested gore might be able to tackle that option depending on how Widnes want to utilise him.
