We were without Morrison, Fletcher, Grayshon or Pickersgill though, not to mention being handicapped by the presence of Thompson, Wildbore, Tyrer and Bannister.



Admittedly Grayshon and Picks were not actually our players, but any fool could see we were woefully short in the pack before we brought players in and also got Fletch and Morrison fit. I know its impossible now, but if we did have to play each other again at our place, I would more than fancy our chances. Apart from against Leigh, who we lost to in the last minute back in April, Barrow are the only side to win in the league at the Stobart this year.

You are right, But when we spend OUR money on OUR stadium we get ALL the benefits and income from it - Not the Council. Im sure that after this years season our Council will help in the Re Development of Craven Park. Funding from elsewhere shouldn't be a problem to get hold of either.

You own a dump that will not get Barrow a licence. It will need massive investment to bring it up to standard. At this moment in time, I can't see that kind of money simply rolling in.



Stadiums, even new ones, cost an awful lot of money to run and maintain. Very few make money, most will be a drain. HBC take that hit. All the policing and stewarding costs etc have been out-sourced. As long as you have a good rental agreement, and we now do, the club will prosper.

It would be great if a club like Barrow did manage it , but even with Des's support they are a long way short of SL , and even a refurbed stadium is not all that is needed

Good, I hope it continues for you. But, until you have all this in place, and have all the major work complete, Barrow fans are in no position to take the pi55 out of our situation. Barrow are lagging a long way behind Widnes in many areas. That may sound arrogant, but it's true.



Unless the RFL are desperate for a [i'Cumbrian'[/i team, I doubt Barrow will be in line for a licence in 2012.



Our stadium is excellent and would grace Super League, no matter who it's owned by. Scoffing at it from a tired old slum is a bit rich imo.

2962 home fans were in attendance in bad weather conditions at our game which kinda clashed with Cartmel races, were you can bet several large groups were planning of attending both, but then the beer brain kicks in and you stay out booze cruising.



Still a very good attendance for an up and coming side, in my opinion.
