Agree, it’s a big season coming up for Masi.



As he came through I was hopeful for him. He looks a great athlete, tonnes of enthusiasm and happy to do his workload. However, he rarely breaks a tackle.



If we are going to look to step up to the next level and properly compete within the Top 4, we’ll need more than that.

sometimes your face doesnt fit but i think the main problem with Bienek was lack of confidence and it didnt help not being selected.

Last had the opportunity to bring Bienek in several times but chose not to when he could have played him off the bench surrounded by senior players which would have raised his confidence knowing he had some punch around him.

I have no doubt Powell will develop him into the powerful,pacey S/L front row we should have been seeing

I would handle the not breaking a tackle if he made up for it with having good body positioning and getting us a quick PTB but he doesn't even do that, he gets dominated most tackles and puts us under so much pressure. You've only got to look at the Wigan game in the CC where he got bullied off the pitch.

Let's hope so, must have soem serious cap space with the players leaving, we will run with a smaller but better quality squad and use more youth players as back up like Wigan and Saints do.

Obviously someone at the Mail has written a story probably along the lines of yesterday mornings about us getting close to Coaching appointment based on being in the know about what is happening and someone upstairs has pulled it at the last minute. Really Interesting though to speculate why isn't it! Any season ticket announcement is going to need a boost!

Wonder if Benji Marshall would fancy a shot at SL? He would know Hodgson and Ellis from his time at Wests... we need a 6, he would get bums on seats (once allowed!) as a marquee halfback and we would sell a shedload of merchandise off the back of it. He's probably more likely to get a NRL contract for 2021 but if there's 1% chance of it happening, we need to be all over it. He still hasn't got a 2021 deal and the NRL teams are back in pre-season training.



Before I get shot down, this may be a pipe dream but with the contacts at the club who know Marshall well (and I'd assume a Motu Tony link in there somewhere...) I'm just throwing this one out there!

As of yet no other NRL team has come in for him. I wouldn't be totally against the idea but he'll be 36 when SL gets underway and he won't be cheap. He played 16 out of 20 games last season and still has something to offer. I'll be surprised if Hull take the risk but who knows? Hodgson might take a leaf out Danny McGuire's book and do his old team mate a favour

If Benji Marshall still doesn’t have a contract with any NRL team for 2021 then it’s quite conceiveable his price demands would have to reasonable to get a contract.

At 36 it would be a gamble but he’d probably be worth a 1 year deal.

Plus it’s not only what he bring on the field in game situations but also the positive impact a player like him would have on McNamara’s development.

Would be incredible, but as you say a pipe dream. Would love to see him in SL even if for a rival, sublime player.

Having Connor, Marshall and Sneyd means would have a serious lack of pace. I wouldn't be against Marshall, but would prefer a quicker, elusive type halfback.

Linked with Anthony Gelling, someone on twitter who called Hodgson to us and Ian Watson to Hudds correctly. Catalans also chasing him.

He also called Watson and Brieley to us, along with Hastings to the NRL and Hudds.



Gets slot more wrong than right

I’d be very surprised if we were in for Gelling as we need a replacement winger to fill the hole left by Ratu, then a replacement half for Kelly and another forward. All of which BH alluded to in his media interviews.

Plus he also mentioned that he wants players that fit within the culture he of the club he wants.

Pretty sure we’ll already have a couple lined up already. Seems that way from what has been said.

I still dont see a winger as a priority, we have Faraimo, Swift as first choice, with Fonua and Scott as back ups.



We also have two international academy wingers coming through.



6 has to be the number 1 priority hopefully a quota marquee player, then a forward.



Unless we play to move Griffin to the backrow.
