It was always going to be a slow start. A reasonable first half.

You'd expect a more dominant second half from us as York Acorn tire.

Crazy amount of mistakes and penalties can't think of a more stop start game I've seen. Cartwright won't be in the slightest bit happy, must have bombed half a dozen tries through stupid mistakes.

Heavy pitch to play on, they scored o the back of two penalties and not been able to handle two kicks. Bombed about 3 trys with poor passes or knock ons. Just hoping to get through this without injuries.

First time we've scored fifty in a match since Sheffield in the Cup in 2022, also at Featherstone.

Only read the Hull Live updates and didn't listen in on radio but Lewis Martin sounded to be the pick of the bunch.
Cust also sounded dangerous in the first half.
But tough to really judge much based on the opposition. Hopefully a few of the younger lads gave Carty something to think about moving forward. Looking forward to seeing how the full 1st team gets on next week

Suppose for a bit if context Saints only put 38 past West Hull with a side containing the likes of Welsby, Sailor, Hurrell, Bennison, Murphy, Bell and Whitley. Well done to West Hull though must have been a good experience for them and it sounds like they gave a good account of themselves.

Wasn’t able to get there today but listened to most of it. Sounds like Martin, Barron, Balmforth, Cust played very well today along with involvements of Asiata, Ashworth & Westerman. Sounds like Balmforth is pretty fit now too playing at 9 and in then in halves.

Credit to York though as they certainly gave it a go and made us work for the win.

Through to next round, got some pts on the board and without injury so for me that’s very much job done.

I’m sure there’ll have been things JC will have seen that he liked and disliked and will have them working on the not so good stuff ready for the trip to France.
