Regardless of what the club have said regards the signing of Luaki, IMO he is almost certainly seen as a replacement for Crocker. When you look at the reasons for others not been granted a visa, I can't imagine this application result to be any different to the previous.

Correct. Bird is an innocent man and got turned down. Claiming he's coming is all just mischief-making IMO.

And often completely different stories from the same alleged sources.

I think some are expecting him to come, get the ball and run through the middle of the defence every time. Or that ever tackle he makes will be awesome in some way.

Some people were probably always thinking that regardless of the delay, but not that many. Most will be hoping that should he arrive he will bring a winning mentality (yes we still need it

) and a good work ethic on the pitch together with a presence. Someone for younger players to watch and learn from. An international class player. Some expectations might be inflated but the majority will be realistic.

The UKBA would say that every application is treated on it's own merits.

I think the first refusal (if on the basis of his conviction) was a reaction to the apparent clampdown by the new entry clearance manager.



There is an element of discretion in the rule that we think was used and a better made case, supported by the club and relevant bodies in Aus should therefore have a better chance of success. Nothing guaranteed, mind. As I've said elsewhere if this gets turned down again, I'd recommend the club contact Bradford about Bird then challenge the refusal through every means possible, involving MPs and Ministers if necessary.

I Don't really see why this thread is on here, lets face it the Daily Wail prints a story that tells us everything we already know....that we, them, the club and everyone else knows nothing!!!!



At Bradford everyone you spoke to knew he was either coming or not coming and it transpires that everyone knew nowt!!!





If I was to put money on it I would say that he is not coming!





However if there is one grain of hope it has to be the lenght of time the process is taking. They have not turned him down outright and are taking a long time to consider things. perhaps the British Consulate has asked for clarification of, or more evidence. Perhaps even the dozens of letters that they have received in support of the application from local businesses involved with the club are being considered, Who Know? (No one on here thats who!)





We will just have to wait but doo't hold your breathe, still we are 5 from 5 and going well, imagine how badly we would want this signing if we were bottom of the League!!
