noticed that too on the night, i do like sharp going forward, but defensively he has cost us 4 tries in two games, 1 imo, costing us a game, a stint in the u20s could be on the cards

paul johnson from wakey is a good prop and could be a good replacement for dowes and fitz

Just watched the highlights. If you look at the spacing between Sharp and the next man in he's about right. Once again our defence compressed into the middle and failed to slide right. Depressing that we just can't sort it out.



Defending wasn't exactly stellar across the park either.

rumour is he has quit Batley and has a SL offer

So, it seems these players are available and willing, just not to Hull FC.

We're a far less attractive proposition and will be until we start getting some regular success on the field. A bit 'chicken and egg' since we need better players (and coach IMO) to get that success. It also wouldn't surprise me one bit if we never even enquired about him.

Indeed, it's a bit daunting that MacManus is quoted as saying "we'll have a new ground in 2012, we aim to have a squad that can grace it", ambitious words from a CEO.

Worth noting that Hohaia is currently not playing at NZW and has been replaced by an 18 year old.

Rule doesn't have the freedom of expression that MacManus has because he doesn't have the equivalent power over what happens at the club. TBH I wouldn't have his job for anything - no ability to control events but the responsibility of being the public face of the board. He's just a reflection of decisions made by the members of the board with actual power.
