| Best team won last night. We paid the price for a very slow start although we did well to get back into the game.
We probably made 'par' for the season, we were the third best team in the league. Outstanding at times but lacking somewhat in consistency and prone to too many poor performances. Our home form certainly needs to be addressed.
All in all though another great season. Cup winners and a top four place is a very pleasing return.

| Why why why did we play like it was a kick about in the park for the first 20? We should have come out all guns blazing. Such a slow ptb and pack failed to make the meters at first.
Then for a while we start playing like Hull FC and then go to sleep for a bit before finishing the game really strongly. Last night was a lesson in playing for the full 80.... again.
I thought when we were playing and not sleeping we were actually the better team, which is really frustrating. Leeds on the other hand played consistently for the full 80 and took their opportunities.
No complaints from me, better team on the night won. Well done Leeds.
It's been a great season. One to remember. I'd really hope to see us at Old Trafford this year, I think the lads and fans deserved that. However, I'll happily take a narrow defeat in the semi and a challenge cup win on the back of some of the most entertaining games and tries ever in a Hull FC season. That for me in the most pleasing thing, we are great to watch, we don't win by drives down the middle.
Well done Radders and the full squad. Enjoy a well earned rest. All the very best particarly to Ellis, Fonua and Michaels.

| Hull FC moment of the game for me was defending 3 (maybe 4?) sets of 6, some of it on our own line and then going 90 meters on the next 6 and scoring. Brilliant and worthy of the semi final.

| I don't think they needs to be a big post mortem, we did start slow but I think it was more down to Leeds starting really well. We did well to keep them down to 12 points and to come back strong. We actually won the last 60 minutes 16 - 6.
Disappointed with the last effort on Sutcliffe but in the end it came down to a missed goal kick. We will be better for that experience another lesson learnt this team is going enough to grow together. We didn't disgrace ourselves and probably could have played smarter.
This club is where us as supporters want it to be and we will lose the big games and we will win them. What's important is we are in them.

Agree 100% and to be fair I've yet to hear anyone say any different, we're in the mix and if you don't perform to the best and the opposition do then more often than not we'll get beat. Roll on next year.

| No complaints from me about the result. I thought leeds were the better team and played really well whereas we were off the pace for much of the match and looked like we thought we just had to turn up to win. leeds looked like a side who knew they had to fight tooth and nail for the win and we looked like a side thinking about next week v cas.
Despite all that we still only lost by virtue of a missed goal kick.
Goal line defence was pretty good but all of the tries were pretty soft
I think the league will be more competitive next year and we will need to be significantly better to be in the mix IMO. League form has been patchy and some of the home performances have been unacceptable.
It's great that we've won the cup but this is probably the weakest SL ever and we've missed a real opportunity for this group to go down in the club's history for me.
Anyway, looking forward to next season

| Well Done FC on being a part of a great, finely balanced Semi Final. Your travelling Fans were great, their reception of the players at the end of the match was brilliant. It was a great venue and occassion for Ellis to make his final bow, a club legend for both clubs. See you next year

2 cracking semi's. Honestly thought it would be a Hull v Cas final. We threw everything at you for the first 20 minutes, so it is a bit unfair for some FC supporters blaming the team for "starting slowly".
For what it's worth, I would have supported you guys in the final as I'm sick of Cas fans arrogant attitude. Like you against us, we have a terrible record against Cas and we need to break the hoodoo!

| Really disappointed - 2 years running we have come up just short.
Fonua immense last night, how many carries & metres made ?? Replacing that will be nigh on impossible.
Major positives - absolute commitment from the squad, fitness & conditioning - Leeds were blowing well before us. Couldn't believe Cuthbertson forced that drop out with a kick on about the 27th offload last tackle !! BUT I think they outskilled us in their offloads & all round handling, our defence was mainly exceptional but needed to be.
Next year will be tougher with Wire, Wigan & Saints likely to be stronger, maybe Hudds. too, not to mention Salford & Cats ( if they survive today ).
Agree massive overall improvement in the club - 4 years ago the last two years would have been a fantasy. IF we are to step up I think it is attack that needs the focus, whether that is some assistance in the coaching for Radders or adding creativity & pace in the squad or both.
Still massive congratulations to AP, Radders all the back room staff & the players for two great years

Five Stella consumed and heading shortly to the Groves Inn for some hand pulled bitter.
I may get a few more down before this afties 3-38pm train back to Ull.
Quite like this Clayton hotel. It's fanny central.
Hen nights just arrived at the bar.
The Groves might have to wait. ☺

| We have to remember that two years ago we'd been well beaten at home by Leeds in the Challenge Cup quarter finals. We then limped into the top eight by winning at Craven Park in round 22 before being hammered at home by Wigan and we then went on to lose six out of seven Super 8 matches and finished fourteen points off the top four.
Back to back Cup wins and two third place finishes since then is terrific progression.

| Brian McDermot said that was the best 25 minutes Leeds have played for a very, very long time. That we came back to be only 6 behind at the break is a credit to the endeavour the players put in. That we put ourselves in front shows how good a side we are.
However mistakes were made - thought Shaul could have done better for Ward's try were he just looked and did nothing to stop it, was one that stood out in the first half, but there were plenty of others that do need looking at (Tackling for their last try was very poor) and no doubt will be looked at so that we can be better in the future.
The effort was outstanding, Ellis running down Walker in the second half was incredible but just execution was lacking at times, the last 10 minutes we just did not control things as we should have (As Radford mentioned), against a side like Leeds you can't afford to do that.
Whilst Leeds were superb that first 25 minutes you can't help but wonder if how we played that first segment was in any way influenced by the team only getting to the ground an hour before kickoff, it certainly can't have helped what with all the pressure of the game being there in any case. why you would want to leave it so late to leave on a Friday afternoon is anyone's guess but that needs to be addressed as a matter of course.
Very positive season, some disappointments of course but then it wouldn't be Hull FC if it was all perfect.

It really is. Minimal changes too, low single-digit changes to the squad - that's crucial if we are to sustain the momentum and team spirit. Paea was a very popular squad member and Ellis is obviously staying in the set-up with Hadley and Abdull also returning. Excited to see Faraimo too, given we've been pursuing him for years.

After the performances of the team in the first 2 years of Radford’s tenure he was deserving of the sack, he showed nothing to say he was good enough to be a coach in super league.

Way too simplistic - performance on the field was never going to happen overnight.

His 2nd season (2015) wasn't that bad, had a lot of injuries and played a lot of young kids in the 8's and put in some good performances, showed signs for things to come and kicked on from there in 2016
Another good season positives for me
Super 8's performance
Winning the cup
Young players coming through and looking the part
Our attacking play, improved on 2016.
Coping with big game players missing, particularly Ellis and Houghton
Two big areas of improvement
Home form
Stop blow away scores.
Solid recruitment for 2018, looking forward to it again.

Agreed. In a recent interview he said when he started the job he knew what he wanted to change and how he would do it. Pearson supported him and it came through. I was a bit twitchy in his first season but always really liked Radford as a bloke so helped patience
