One average game doesn't make Ellis an average player.

To be fair on JMR, his points about Ellis's knee issues, lack of pace and off field problems are spot on. Also if you was to judge on tonight's performance alone, he looks bloody awful. Fortunately, he has played well in other games, and at his age, he can only get better. Let's not delude ourselves though, he is cheap cover that we hope we can improve to SL standard.

Ellis' main problem has always been - and always will be - a lack of pace.



It's the one thing you cannot really coach - if he 'makes it' in Super League it will be as a utility player like another slowcoach, Scott Murrell.



Halfbacks like Brough, Luke Gayle and Kyle Briggs have made successful transitions into Super League because they are reasonably quick.

got to say its the 1st time iv seen ellis....hes got a long way to go to be a starting 7 for a superleague team..but like i say 1st time iv seen him and to be fair leigh were awful!!

Yes I hope so. I'd rather see us sign average youngsters that can improve rather than players on the decline. It is dependent on good coaching so I hope Agar and Long can make something of him. You do have to worry about his size and lack of pace, but you can be a good halfback with just a kicking game, and I imagine we're concentrating on that aspect.

For all Halifax were very good Leigh were eqaully as poor last night which is a shame because Leigh have a couple of players who I think could step up to SL given the chance and it could have been a cracking match.



Halifax fans must be wondering where this kind of performance had been all season! Surely the Nobby factor isnt that strong?





Leigh to bounce back next week by giving somebody a good hiding with Ellis running the show I reckon.

he was poor! I missed the team line ups but finaly tuned in on the 2 min mark, didn't know he was playing till aroiund the 13 min mark when his name was mentioned!

The kid had a poor game, accept it. If he had have played well, I would have said!



There is a reason why I have posted negative things about your recent signings, plenty of negativity from FC fans on your new signings too, not just me.

He did have a mediocre game Rupes,but can`t judge by just one game.I am sure some of your star players have had off days.
