He feels strongly about it, that's for sure, but he sticks to his guns. Who knows, he might be proved right in time. I'd say it was far from a foregone conclusion that Agar is the man to take us to the level we ought to be at given our off the field success. |

What I do think is that Jakes obsession with being 'proved right' is maybe more important (to him) than what the majority of us (supporters) ultimately want.

I don't think that's the case. I'm sure if we were to lift the ultimate prize at Old Trafford, Jake wouldn't be quietly seething in the corner because he'd been proved wrong about Agar. I do believe he genuinely wants us to achieve greatness or he wouldn't be bothered about Agar being, as he puts it, clueless. I don't think any fan wants to see us fail.
One thing's for sure, he'll think he's more important than he actually is if we keep discussing him much longer. |
