Fairly steady in the second half, some decent passing and kicking

Not been his night but a couple of errors apart I think he has gone ok. Good short kicking game but I have been more impressed with his passing from first reciever. His passing is quick and accurate and opens up alot if space. Certainly think we have something to with with.

Reminds me of a young Tommy Lee.

Agree with all of that, needs to trim off a bit and would have liked to see more of his longer kicking game as that is where we really struggle.

The reason he looks 'very average' is because that is what he is at this moment in time!



We are talking about a young lad who, because of a perceived lack of pace, a wel-documented knee problem and one or two disciplinary issues, was unwanted by other Super League clubs.



What was you expecting? The second coming of Benji Marshall?



Ellis has a decent kicking game and will provide good back-up on a modest wage next year.



That is all anyone could realistically expect.

Well if you are happy with him crack on...I watched him thinking super league prospect playing in the championship should be a stand out player or at least show some glimpses..

We've signed him and an ex widnes player, long and Horne another year older, I predict another year of top eight if were lucky..

Looking at his posting history, JMR can't quite decide if he's a Hull fan or a Rovers fan. He also said that Gary Hetherington was behind Westerman's signing for Hull.

JMR may or may not have been trolling but he was pretty accurate in his assessment. I would like Ellis to do well because i want more clubs to delve into the Championship to give some kids a chance. However, in all honesty is he any better or have more potential than Anthony Thackery or Tommy Lee? Two players that you released to make way for better players. I dont think so.

Elllis is second choice after Kath put a stop to the signing of initial target Moore a few month ago......
