There could be something in that move Horne F/B wouldn't be a shock

I think they may move R. Horne back to scrum half for 1 yr and play Thorman at stand off. I think Thorman did play a bit of 7 for London Broncos prior to his departure to Aus though, so he may well be direct cover for Dykes. I'd say thats Webster not getting his contract though. 1 thing this 1 yr signing says to me is we're gonna be buying a world class 7 for 2010. Whilst Agar is spending some time with Craig Bellamy, he could well put a marker down for Cooper Cronk for the 2010 season. I hoped this was the way they'd go and it looks like they possibly are. 1 good thing about the arrival of Thorman will be the fact we'll be able to spell Tickle, which should improve his impact and in turn give us the forward rotation we need.

Could even play Horne at loose forward

Cronk signed a new 5 year deal this season.

rich horne will, rightly imo , be at stand off next season.

Washbrook and Whiting for that spot.

Good signing for Hull FC is Chris Thorman, I like him as a player not so much at Full Back but at Half Back he can be a very intelligent player.

or even Richard Horne

Great signing. You can never have too many average backs in a squad I say.

Thorman isnt really a bad player, whats annoying is that Hudds have ambtion and want to push on by signing a halfback the quality of Todd Carney and possibly even Nathan Fein (I would expect him to play dummy half if he signed) both better players then Thorman, so should be a bigger club but we cant compete with them.

Has to be Horne at 6 and Thornham (as DDD calls him) at 7 IMO.

i cant see dykes leaving tbh, i think if he was he'd be gone by now.

Id much rather keep Dykes even if we would only get half a season out of him then have Horne and Thorman at 6 and 7 all season, Its not ilke we could use the extra quota place to sign anybody decent.

We need stability in the halfs. Having Dykes in one game then Thorman then back to Dykes will just mean a repeat of this seasons debacle.

Dykes is going home for a holiday But coming back for Christmas and to see his contract out ..both him and his family love it here

I am not at all disappointed with this signing, and could prove to be a good move by the club.

The biggest positive I think, is that Berrigan can settle down in the hooking role. Washy or Whiting at loose

I see we have the serial whingers on here who wouldnt be happy if we signed the whole of the Australian and New Zealand touring teams, they would still in in EXPERT opinion have their little whinge. I think Thorman will bring a lot to our team that has been missing, with his kicking game, Raynor and Calderwood should be a threat to a lot of teams.

A good signing in my opinion. The biggest problem anyone has signing for our club is before they even have time to pull on the famous black and white shirt the doom mongers have written them off. I respect everyone is entitled to an opinion, but surely you should also show respect by at least seeing how they perform for us first.

I dont see many whingers, only Standee. Even i feel positive about the move.

Problem is we already have Dykes and Horne. Unless we can offload Dykes without adversely affecting our cap situation, we're stuck with that combo for another season. There's no point in chasing quota players that will cost big bucks when right now we can't accommodate them (due to quota and cap reasons). Thorman is a stop-gap to allow us to move for a top half-back in 2010 if one becomes available.



Not sure that we lack abmition or pull when next season we'll have Crocker and Berrigan in our side.

Missed that one.
