| Quote Armavinit="Armavinit"Hi Fred. Prior to Schofield’s departure to play for West’s, his agent agreed terms and he signed up. Whilst in Oz, he found out what the Oz players were getting and tried to renegotiate. FC had prior agreed to let him stay with the Tigers till the end of their season, which he did. On his return he refused to play for Hull until they agreed new terms. FC stuck to their agreed deal and I believe he was sold to Leeds in October. Hence the original “Judas”. Great player and a pity he didn’t finish his career at Hull.'"
Thanks for that. Never heard about this in Aus so never fully knew how the Judas association came about. Lee Crooks also departed for Leeds in the same year for a world record fee at the time(150K?). Losing these 2 great players must have been a massive disappointment for the supporters.

Schoey was off like a rat up a drainpipe, Lee was dragged kicking and screaming from the Boulevard, he loves his home town team Fred to this day, as you say a massive disappointment at the time, without doubt, our board probably skint once again.

| I've been told we are close to bringing Fonua back, must mean either Griffin or Carlos into the pack, think either would do a good job there.

Strange one - 4 quota spots used in the backs - Bureta, Carlos, Mahe, Albey.

| Cant see fonua coming back unless we are losing an outside back and we desperately need forwards plus he would cost too much imo

| Would Tuimavave make a good back rower? Very strong defensively, great physique, good hands and upper body strength

Think FC have always seen Griffins long term future in the 2nd row, if we are looking at Fonua then I would expect Griffin to move to the back row

| Fonua coming back would be the best news in some time. Tie Jake up for 7 years and happy days

| We could conceivably have changed our recruitment plans if Fonua has become available.
Like you say, Griffin moves up into second row.
Fonua plays like a forward anyway!

| Don't see the logic in bringing Fonua back if we have Faraimo & Naulago signed up for next season as we need forwards as we short in that area, even with the recent form of Paea its an area that needs improving.
Having another outside back particularly taking a quota spot just wouldn't make sense as we need to maximise the cap and quota so the main part of it is in the 17 each week. If we signed Fonua it would mean we would have two players who would be on a fair amount sat in the stand and at lest one of them being a quota spot which would be a complete waste.
Don't follow the logic of moving Griffin from centre in to the second row either as his form this season has been very good (despite what some think).
So bringing Fonua in would leave us short unless at least one of the current outside backs is leaving and he would be a replacement.
