| I love RLfans sometimes
someone at HullFC gets 'promoted' and everyone on here wonders why he's needed, others suggest its just a way of avoiding tax etc its non stop whinge whinge whinge
I have no idea what he does or whether he deserves this 'promotion' but in recent months we have formed a good link with the NHS, and who's to say this won't mean more workload for the community team? especially considering our training ground project heavily involves the NHS.

Our P&L reserves are negative by £1.5m, so on current run rate we'd be allowed to pay a dividend in 2025.
In terms of "what other reason can I think of?", FC only have 2 directors running the day to day business. I'd suggest that the community arm of the club, if you include building strategic partnerships such as the NHS training facility, working with external funding bodies on the community programmes and working to expand other sources of investment for the club could be managed more effectively by Rule giving accountability to a senior director. For me, Rule has too many areas of direct, rather than indirect, accountability. I'd guess that the appointment has been made therefore to a) recognise and reward the work that John has already done, particularly on the NHS partnership, and b) to ensure that appropriate senior management resource is invested in what will be a key area of the business over the next few years. But if it suits you to make something up about dividends just to ensure you start the day with criticism of the club, go for your life.

Directors are employees. Some also own shares, some don't. My point is that the guy seems to have done well and earned a promotion and the foundation/community side of the club, including the new training facilities is now an area big enough to warrant a director in the opinion of the board. Why do we automatically assume they are wrong when we don't know how much work and senior management time is needed to make them a success?

Why have you automatically decided all who've queried the appointment as ppl who know nothing?
Whether it's right or not, why does it matter to you what other ppl's opinions are on the appointment?
And lastly, if i'm allowed 'your Heighness Barista' my opinion is formed on past dealing with said person, and not going into detail, had to be sorted out by, how can i put it, more senior personal!
So i ask again, why can't he carry on as just an employee, why add the tag 'DIRECTOR' if all he is is still just an employee?

There are thousands of directors who are "just employees" i.e. top tier management but not shareholders. In your opinion he's not director calibre, fair enough if that's your experience. Doesn't mean that the there's not a director level role needed to manage the £3m+ training facilities project and the externally-funded comunity programme. You and others are saying it's not needed. I'm suggesting it might be, but how many of us know enough about what is involved to be that sure?

Having read a lot of your posts can I ask one question......Why dont you SUPPORT another club who you feel you can SUPPORT and not be critical of their every move. Sorry to be harsh and I arent one of those everything is rosey in the Hull FC garden but I have not read one supportive post of yours.Everything is negative !!!
