We were lucky to get Thirkill in any situation but nobody was ever going to be interested in Salford for rugby reasons and that situation seems way more complex than ours. The ground is on valuable commercial land and Salford council have promised the RL club that they will sign over the ground, land and a valuable advertising board space for them to develop. That all sounds great for Salford but nobody is going to start to pay the debts of a rugby league club until the land is officially signed over and that could take months.
For all the slaver we get about not ‘owning’ our ground from that lot at least it’s meant that anyone invested in our club is for rugby reasons only.
Think any player thinking of leaving Salford will want to a contract that goes into next season at least, won't want to go to one club with next season uncertain.

All the more reason to only sign for the long term
