| Quote ="hesslefan"The best team won.
BUT
Kelly and Connor did not take control. If that was an audition for Connor - and overall I think he is an exceptional player - being a leader on the pitch he failed.
There were a number of mystifying decisions by Thaler. Warrington simply should not have been in possession for their first two tries. Fonua offloaded the ball and I think Warrington knocked on twice but he gave a knock on against Hull. When Johnstone tackled his namesake the commentary team could not understand why a penalty was given. When a pass to Lane was given as forward - well on that basis Wigan will never have a pass allowed again. Ratchford should have been sin binned for interference at the play the ball. All of those were early in the game and allowed Warrington to get momentum. After that every offload etc seemed to stick
Later he awarded a try to Warrington but went to the video ref who overruled him but he still gave them possession from a Hull knock on. Similarly to suggest that Warrington were only offside in about the 75th minute of the game when he had already penalised Hull twice is just ridiculous. Having watched a lot of Australian games during lockdown I like the six again rule but I think with our referees it is just a lottery and do not understand the basis for a lot of the decisions.
Even though Warrington were disrupted by the coronavirus problems they are clearly a more settled club and a team who know what each other are doing. Given player changes last year and a change of coach and the recent issues regarding the pandemic we have a long way to go.'"
The best team won but didn't deserve any of the tries they scored and were kept in the game by a biased referee. Thanks for explaining.

| During this game Chris Satae claimed that Dec Patton had bit him on the arm, in front of the posts with Wire in possession, Referee waved play on apparently ignoring it and Wire went on to score. Last nights game not sure who but a Leeds player claimed he’d been bitten by a Rovers player, Ref stopped the game brought the 2 players and respective captains together. After everyone involved was shown the apparent bite mark, resumed the game, meaning Rovers we’re allowed to form a disciplined defensive line. Can anyone tell me why 2 referees treat the same offence differently and was Dec Patton disciplined, I notice he’s missing from Wire’s present line up.

| This is what disciplinary came up with...
Quote Opponent reacts at the closing stages of the tackle. Opponent has arm around the neck/head area of player. Reported immediately to the referee. Footage inconclusive. Referred for further investigation. No additional evidence submitted. Referee and touch judge observe no red marks/bite marks on field. Player has pressure applied to back of head/neck. Other defender falls on to groin area which may cause an additional ‘jolt’ forward – not of a biting motion.'"

But the ref didn’t stop play plus the touch judge didn’t come onto the field. The ref just seemed to hurry the game on without taking notice

I think that's what "further investigation" comes up with.
