Quote ="Jake the Peg"Quite relaxed about this one. If we win then great, a day out at Wembley and a good payday for the club but well, get well beat by saints. Lose and I think well have a better chance of reaching our first grand final in a long time so for me I wont lose too much sleep if we don't win saturday'"
For me Jake, if we’re in a semi final we play to win it and deal with the final if we get there.
The same rules of course apply to the Grand Final if we get there.
If we do, the likelihood is we’d be playing Saints in both finals.
So I can’t understand why it would be a relaxing to not make Wembley for fear of certain defeat but then somehow expect a different outcome in the other ?
I’d rather be at both and lose both, rather than not be there at one because it augers well for the other ?
I’m totally with you on craving a Grand Final again, but I’d still rather have 2 pops at them and lose, rather than think we can avoid a beating at Wembley by not being there, but somehow be good enough to get the prize At Old Trafford.
Featherstone 83 and John Kears Sheffield both showed that turning up as huge underdogs can be worthwhile.
On our day we know we are really good. I’ll be going in believing it’s our day. Starting tomorrow.
