child was less pedantic than usual but completely failed to police the 10m at the PTB meaning wire were on us before we'd even played the ball for 1/2 the game.

Noticed in the Hudds/leeds game, Huddersfield players ever so slightly delayed 'heeling' the ball after placing it on the ground and were deliberate in putting their foot on the ball, this caught leeds out twice as players were encroaching and the split second delay on putting foot on ball made it far more obvious for the ref to see (players offside).
TBH I thought Child deliberately ignored a really obvious forward opass in that first half by them, he was in line and it was as plain as the nose on your face, not even close to being a 'flat' pass.
Whilst we all want a flowing game I don't want that to be at the cost of ignoring infractions by players, stick to the rules and make the players modify their behaviour (& that of the coaches too), if players know they will get pinged more frequently they are less likely to try to get away with infringing.
However the ridiculous over-reaction to the non sending off of Westwood (after his swinging high tackle) has meant incidents were contact was made but not fault of tackler have being dealt with in a totally different manner and IMHO outside the realms of fairness.
