Your comments on Radford's excuses are exactly what I thought as soon as I heard them. A minute into the second half , three and a half games in???????? The problem is that once Sutcliffe strode through our line , you knew , I knew , the Leeds fans and players knew and the hull players just seemed to accept that it was game over. It was palpable , you could almost touch the fragility that is our team , our club. I have no idea what you do to fix that and nor does Radford seemingly or anyone that has gone before him. It just keeps happening. Then again when was the last time we had a tried and tested , intelligent coach with staff also falling into that category?
Wahey, I got quoted! Probably the best diary you've ever done.
Seriously though, you've nailed what a lot of us are thinking/feeling right now. The first 2 games have likely made us feel the bump back down all the harder, which hasn't helped.
thanks for summing it up Wilf. I find my enthusiasm getting less and less before each game, I no longer feel "up for it" and trudge along expecting the worst and as on Thursday getting it. Half time I still not dare to believe and I was right (along with everyone else sat near me). I don't know what the answer is, we've had new coaches, new players, new owner - the only thing that hasn't changed is the supporter.
Thanks for this week's effort Wilf and like you, and most other supporters, I really don't know what to say about the present state of the club. Its all very disturbing at the moment and the second half on Thursday was nothing short of a nightmare. Perhaps payment by results would see an improvement, although I very much doubt it. In fact the only bright spot of the weekend was to see Warrington beating our friends in the east.
Lets hope that miracles do happen and we can come away from Wigan with 2 unlikely points. Without them I'm afraid that our next home match will see a dramatic drop in the number of faithful who are prepared to watch.
Thanks for this weeks diary Wilf, it was probably a tough one to write but it will be tougher as the season goes on, it has never been easy to be a Hull fan but there's always next season.
