Quote ="FevRover"Went to Headingley yesterday with the mrs my sis and brother in law(wakey fan) so I got a look at the new rules.
1. Charge down - liked it when the defending team (Leeds) attempted it near to thier own line and were rewarded with the last tackle handover when Wakey got the ball back, looks a good rule to me.
2. One man less in the scrum for the attacking side- the one that was seen most yesterday, didn't see any advantage really, last year we saw Danny H at loose in attacking scrums and the scrum half scoot away to join the line, I dont see any real difference as now with no loose man the scrum half has to be there to pick up the ball, really disapointed that niether side tried to shove the attacking side off the ball.
3. Kick dead from your own half- Didn't expect to see this one but McShane managed it once, thought it was a cracking idea taking the tap on the 40, should stop teams deliberately kicking dead and trying to hunt the mistake ( Tony Rea might have to find a new tactic for the Broncos).
All in all the changes seem ok although it was funny with the crowds reaction as most didn't know about the trial rules.
ps there should be a rule at Headingley that the trumpet in the south stand has to be shoved up the drummers aris 10 minutes before kick off and cann't be retrieved until 5 minutes after the final whistle.'"
This should be an Act of Parliament never mind a rule change
