| I believe the record stands at 25,004 for the Wigan v Saints derby in 2005.
Leeds failed last night to do so against Cas at the larger Elland Road stadium. Had they promoted the game a bit more, it would probably been there for the taking.
Would be nice if Hull tried to break this record whilst they can. The capacity of the KCOM is 25,400.
I'm sure there's something like a 10% empty seats rule for unreserved areas for safety reasons, on top of segregation that drops it down to around 23k.
A bit of forward planning and I reckon you could at least get 25,200 with minimal segregation above the tunnels either side of the North stand, all reserved seats (season pass holders would need to swap for a ticket) and no Sky Screen (use the two stadium screens provided).
Can't see the stadium being expanded any time soon with Hull City's predicament.

| It's unlikely we could get 25k but we could get 20k for a SL game with the right opposition. Even with a year's break I think interest in the derby has waned so we're perhaps looking at Leeds, Wigan or Saints but we'd need to get the opposing club involved, maybe offering free tansport.
We got 19,539 against Bradford in 2003 for a regular season game, 17,453 against Warrington a couple of years ago in the Super 8s, so big crowds are possible if circumstances are right.

| It would have to be a derby that has massive importance. Like a playoff game (in the current 80mins from Old Trafford format not the extended format back in 2010) or maybe a million pound game (could you imagine the tension for that!)
Apart from that probably not. Two teams in the city lowers the fanbase and our location means we won't ever get massive away numbers

Personally, I think with the correct event management and marketing build up, we could sell out a derby.
I don't see anything in primary schools about the derby, and very little about either club. It's kids that nag parents to go to games. We definitely need to interact better in this regard.

| As another poster said, Hull/Rovers semi-final to reach Old Trafford would be the about the only possible full house scenario.
Doubtful in this life.

| Thing is when we play rovers at home a section on either side of their fans in the north stand is sectioned off which means that althought if every seat was filled we would break the record will all seats actually be available?
Would a Cup Quarter final match get a full house or close to one?

| Our inconsistent home form has been the main factor in not growing our home attendances.
We seem to blow the game when its possible a good performance and win would increase the next home attendance.
The 2016 League Leaders Shield match against Warrington was a prime example when a win would have given us the League leaders shield but more important was a missed home play off semi final game with St Helens which should have produced a bumper crowd.
Get a winning team playing attractive R/L and the crowds will come back particularly as Hull City are at rock bottom.

That is a very simplistic view and doesn't really stand up under scrutiny.
Our home form has been poor the last couple of seasons but in 2016 our average went up and the slight drop in 2017 was due to playing Leigh rather than Rovers (otherwise the average would have shown another increase).
Converesly in 2012, for example, our home record was W12 D2 L1 but the average attendance dropped by 4%.
Form will be one factor but there are others such as games being televised, rearranged games, games held during school holidays, quality of opposition/attractiveness of fixtures etc.

Not true, the 2nd derby later that season had a higher attendance, although I understand why most round here have tried to forget that game.
