People are saying that Box has sold this pup to keep everyone quiet for a while, but why would he do that? Until that point, the stance of WMDC appeared to be that it was nothing to do with them, Yorkcourt too. They could have just carried on with that line and let MC sell up or go elsewhere. There'd been some fall-out, but there will be this time too, because they'd made public the financing plans.



Every decision involves weighing up all the options. Are people really saying that Box and WMDC made a conscious decision to embark on another doomed project, with all that follows from the doom, without any intention to carry it through? I can't see why anyone would do that, with all the work it involves.



I just don't see an advantage in going public with plans when refusal to get involved had worked just fine. If he had no intentions to see it through, he could have just maintained the stance adopted until that point.

The designs shown were obviously reworked ones from a couple of years ago, it's unlikely that an architectural design company would have used the old logo when we have a new one, but it is likely that they forgot to change the logo on some of the designs to the new logo which is why some of the designs still had the Wildcats logo on them

I thought the suggestion came from MC, I'm pretty sure it was said that there would be plans produced and maybe a 3D model within 3 months, but then again that was a year or so since.I'm not convinced the new ground will materialise, When these new plans came it came from no where, it all seemed too convenient, how/why would plans be put together without the input form MC and CB, who on the council has the nouse to put all the facilities needed in a modern stadium? Who knows the clubs requirements? The parking issue shouldn't be a problem, Heath common is nearby, a load of Tarmac from the travellers on the common should sort that out.

However big fan of the club I may be and redeveloping BV has been a long held dream of mine. But why should the ratepayer most of whom have no interest in our club get taken for a ride. That makes us no better than the rest of them.



I reckon the monies so far wasted by WMDC on these failed stadium developments could have secured the ground and probably redeveloped the main stand by now if used wisely.



It's an utter disgrace whether we end up with a ground or not.

That makes 3 of us that’s lost the plot on this one. I didn’t know ratepayers would be affected. Scrap the whole project please.

The project would create business rates from the additional buildings on the site.

The project would create jobs in the construction industry in the short term, and in other locations on site in the long-term,

The project would service the debt created by WMDC.

The project would improve the environment, commercially and visibly, of a grotty part of the city.

The project would create the continued impression that the city is vibrant and forward-thinking.

The project would allow the name of the city to be broadcast to the world, with a successful sports team representing its image.



Not allowing the project would show that the council is inept, morally and in terms of how it enforces its planning laws, and that the city is a dying force, even allowing its only sports team to leave.

All I can say is that the Club & Trust have as requested by the Council prepared comprehensive Heads of Terms that reflect a similar deal to that of Castleford Tigers at Glasshoughton. You will recall that Peter Box stated in the Council Chamber that the Castleford deal had been described as a "perfect agreement" and that he intended to ensure that Wakefield Trinity would receive a similar deal and we are grateful to him for that.



The Heads of Terms were submitted to the Council last week well ahead of the deadline.

Just remind people, in the Cas deal the council are purporting that a developer just turned up out of the blue and offered to build Cas a brand new stadium at a cost of £13M and let them have it for a quid. What a fantastic deal!!!!



No dubious trusts with bloated individuals wanting to get their snouts in the trough for them. A brand new stadium, no strings attached to own outright for a quid.



Surely its only fair that Michael and Chris should be offered the same deal. In fact lets be honest, I am sure they would be realistic and be prepared to pay 10 times more than Cas for an identical ground. A tenner would be a good price, can't be much fairer than that.
