Cas are a fellow RL club struggling to cope with the historical retiscence of our beloved local authority to do owt for anyone.



I really and truly hope that we can do our thing and they can theirs. Anything less is a compromise - but if that's what it takes - in the short, medium or long term - then that's what it'll be. This issue will wait no longer as the RL have enough candidates for our places at the top table - and that is something we should be pleased about, once we set our local allegances aside!

My only reason for laughing when this finally breaks is down to the fans that ridiculed our club when Thornes fell through.

Gaslight you were one such fan. A lot of your fans ran your mouths about being the bigger club, and were happy we appeared to be on our way out.

i think it will be just, and most humbling when you have to share a stadium with your "parent city".

no i feel a lot of empathy for many cas fans but at times its like peeing into the wind . I said about 2 years ago we need to get into each others tent and publicly back each others bid but that fool wright with his chip the size off Airedale would never show any support for tghe wakey bid .

If/when a groundshare takes place it's then up to the clubs to demonstrate what they bring to SL, why SL would be a poorer place without them.

However if Cas fans kick and scream over this (if that's the way it pans out) it will hardly look good for them come franchise time. If we had just have got on with a suitably sited groundshare 5 years ago we could have spent the last 2 "settling in" and showing the rest of SL how important the Wakefield district is to the game.

Instead we have struggled to a (possible) solution on our side through the dedication of a few, very noble folk.

This could have been VERY OLD NEWS YEARS AGO.

It makes more sense than ever for both teams to share at Newmarket IMO. The location is in my opinion smack bang inbetween Castleford and Wakey areas. I think both teams should get on board and work together with the Newmarket project to make it happen. Im sure both teams would love a ground of their own, but i dont think it will happen.

I don't know what point you're trying to drive home but the funding comes from a combination of the loan from the land given by Wakey Council, the sale of The Jungle, and sponsorship and corporate funding. There's no way that Waystone will let this project fail - absolutely no way, I can guarentee that.

The loan from the council is dependent on you moving, so you have to sell the jungle.

Yes Waystones may have spent money, the vast majority being the land clearance and leveling, which they would have had to do were they going to build a stadium or a supermarket.
