I like to think I have a wide taste in music but these 2 gigs almost 30 years apart don't show it

First gig. Mott the Hoople at Leeds Town Hall in 1973. Support group was Queen.



Saw Rory Gallagher at Leeds Town Hall not long after tickets were 50p.

Worst gig I saw was Judie Tzuke at Hammersmith Odeon.



She was just boring and, from where I was sat, too bloomin' far away for me to appreciate her finest assets!

Best or possibly worst venue was Adam and Eves in Leeds - saw King Kurt there a few times and always came out covered in flour and gunge , bit tipsy and DEAF ! (not the biggest of venues )

The Clash/Theatre of hate gig wasn't Manchester Apollo by any chance,saw them both there one monday night.

No, Bridlington Spa, but must have been on the same tour.

My brother was at that Mott The Hoople gig - he bought the first Queen album after that gig and his 9 year old little brother (me) started to listen to what would become his favourite group.



Last month I went to see the reformed Mott The Hoople play 7 excellent gigs (2 warm ups in Monmouth, 5 proper gigs in Hammersmith), their first for over 35 years - last week I met Brian May of Queen in Bradford.



On TV on Friday night (BBC2 11.35pm) is Queen's 1975 Christmas Eve concert from Hammersmith - recommended viewing

Her indoors will love that - her fav band and fav artist!

as i saw queen 6or 7 times in their heyday i really hope you told him to never ever reform the band again??

Saw Rory Gallagher at Leeds Uni, think it was 1977, most boring gig I ever attended.



Worst venue was the old Tram Sheds in Leeds saw the Jam there around '83, they were excellent but the acoustics in there was appalling.

Will have been much before then. They did their farewell tour in December 1982, with their last ever gig early in 1983, and The Style Council were onto their third single by August 83 (puts anorak on and finds it fits lovely).

Finest assets were her front teeth. If I remember rightly she could have eaten an apple through a letterbox.
