I agree that players will become available as the season progresses. We should be in a good position to secure a couple of needed.

With how our recruitments gone it will be interesting to see if there’s any signings announced for 2026 season on Decembers deadline.

Hampshire's always been too good for the average club, but not good enough for #1 at the top club.

It makes him a superb back-up player - absolutely won't let you, but the A-lister in your team (often an import), is just that bit better (and better paid). Injuries may well have played a part in that??

Hampshire is always asking for too much money. He is a utility player and won't be first choice in any superleague team but he won't accept that . Every time his contract runs out he thinks the grass is greener somewhere else

I don't think we need any more now. Possibly and only possibly another prop.

We need to go with what we have, which I think is going to be competitive and then adapt as we go.

He’s a part owner in a valeting company - he wants to concentrate on that. We are assuming that he wants to carry on, I wouldn’t be surprised if he called it a day. His request came as a surprise to the club.

That came up at Shareholders too.

They said he definitely wants to play so he would have more limited time in first team now.
And as said he has a business he would like to grow. So championship works better.

Smart move by him, it's nice to see a professional sportsman managing the transition from professional sport to life after. There's been too many instances where players have finished their careers with no sound plans for what comes next, and have felt - rightly or wrongly - cast aside...in some cases causing serious mental health issues.
Wheres his business based...I've never used a valet service yet, but I just might treat myself.

He may well be and I may be wrong on the type of business, just what I heard. Whatever it is I seriously doubt he’s the one who will be doing the hands on stuff, I’d suggest he’s a director, partner or owner of whatever it is. Should be, he’s a smart lad and earned good money over the years. Bit like the days when retired players became publicans, but who’d want to do that now.

He'll have a dozen Albanians doing the graft if he follows the general pattern around Wakefield.

I see that Liam Kay has announced that he is retiring from the game to concentrate on his business. Been a great servant to Trin over the past few years so hopefully it works out well for him
