| I was at the home play off game v Catalan in 2009. There was definitely more than 1300 there but I don't recall a master class by Bird to the same level as Steve Ella many years ago v Wigan or Shane Tronc v Leeds etc....
I recall Catalan running over the top of Trinity in that play off game and the Trinity players not turning up...

| Quote bellycouldtackle="bellycouldtackle"Brilliant that Catalans have signed Greg Bird, a truly superb, gifted player, fantastic news for SL. I remember when there were players around who I would pay to watch, when Wakey have not had a game on a Sunday I have paid in to watch Jonathon Davies - not Widnes but Jonathon Davies, others I have paid specifically to watch include Elery Handey, Kurt Sorenson, Andy Gregory. The last was Sam Tompkins when he burst onto the scene, I remember going to Odsal just to see him play. I cant think of a player from any SL club this season who I can say the same for. The best examples maybe were Trinity players, Wally Lewis put thousands on the gate, Steve Ela was another that fans from other clubs came to watch, Bill Ashurst certainly was in that category.
Greg Bird is one of those special players, an absolute joy to watch. So well done Catalans I will make sure I get to some of your away games when Trinity are not player just to see one of the modern greats play the game.'"
I'd also put Solomona in this category.
He was a great signing ant absolute quality when he came over here.
I never got to see Lewis so, Solomona is the best player I've seen in a Trinity shirt

| Ray Price for me along with Solomonas but Solomona let us down by jumping ship so tainted his image, 3 years retired and was worth the entrance fee just to watch him.

Sums it up in a nut shell armadasa , 1300 where these posters come from God only knows. I did a trial commentary on that game from the flats and I can assure you there was more than that.

What makes you think it was him who pushed to leave rather than Wakey looking to get cash?

| Isn't Greg Bird under investigation by the Nrl integrity board for brawling in a bar.

After he "jumped ship" he came back to play at BV. Solomona was lining up for the opposition near the touchline down by chavs corner when a geezer in the crowd shouted...
"Hey Solomona....I know tha a born again Christian but I didn't know tha were Judas Iscariot"
The smirk on Solomona's face was priceless.

Not sure about the fee, but Solomona went to Bradford at the end of the 2006 season with Ferres going to Wakefield as part of the deal.
