According to Halifax forum we've signed him. From what i've seen on Thursday nights on sky he's an half decent player, big unit, aggressive and doesn't mind putting himself about.

Looking at the fax board it looks like a rumour started by a wakey fan! But reading quotes it makes you think that they rate him and would miss him, So could be a decent signing if it comes off.

For many reasons I cannot post on here if true, a very poor signing.

Useful championship player but that is all, discipline is bad, puts himself about but would be found out in super League.

Disagree he would be a great additon to your squad plus he only 21 too and with full time coaching he would turn into a top player.

Sounds like our sort of player, only seen a bit of him and he looks like he has potential and also we need a prop. Would be a decent signing in my opinion.

All players arrive at clubs with a clean sheet as far as I'm concerned and stand or fall on what they actually do. Paul Cooke came with a bad rep and sadly failed failed to dispel that claim, which was sad. However the list of bad boys that armchair experts have told us not to touch with a barge pole since JK arrived who have very much delivered is a long one and in some cases hugely impressive. So if you don't mind I'll ignore the malicious inuendo and should we sign him give him a fair chance.

Well, if jjp, Kevin penny and now barlow, is the calibre of player signing for trinity, its going to be a long season. All 3 will be found wanting at that level. None of the 3 were the best in their position at their respective clubs let alone the championship!

He was definatley our best forward to the back end of the season. He gave us the extra lift to push on and win the grand final.

Only young and will develop into a cracking player.

Im sure the same could be said about Richard Moore, Ricky Bibey, Jase Golden etc etc, they came in from the lower leagues and did a job for us.



In fact all the players we have signed in recent years seem to be 'cast offs' with the exception on Shane Tronc and David Solomona- and we're still in SL and remain competitive!!

It would do in my opinion. However, I am very curious as to what jonh reasons are!

I'm not a supporter of your club so I'm dispassionate about my observations. There are those of us who thought jjp was NOT the best centre at fev. I've seen Kevin Penny a few times and was NOT impressed by him in any of his performances v Fev - he was gash!! Sam Barlow, ok player. Young and big - ok in championship - but nowt more special than ok - and I've seen him player a fair bit this season for sheff and fax.

My thoughts that at SL, when the intensity, fitness and skills level are much higher, your team is being filled with recruits who have only performed, and some (Penny) who have been absolutely average, in the championship!



Still, if you're happy, that's ok.

Different environments have different affects upon players, Paul White was so appalling whilst on loan at Halifax they sent him back, and to be fair to the lad he went on to play fairly well for the rest of the season at SL level.



The signings this season are not so different from the usual ones Trinity make. Older players with SL experience, players written off by other clubs and a few championship players. So far they have managed to keep the club hovering around the top 8 aside from last year, which ironically the recruitment policy appeared deviate from the norm and go for a higher quality of player.

You only have to look at Peter Fox and Jason Golden. Both were plucked from lower league clubs when Rhino's didn't think they were good enough. Both are still playing at superleague level one of them rated as one of the best wingers in the country.
