My Dad was the club Dr in the late 70`s and early 80`s, he was always staggered by how tough RL players were, but was simply amazed by the staggering toughness of Graham Idle. What a player Graham was, durable, athletic, tough, determined and boy what a tackling machine he was.
Graham idle started out at Bramley, he was a full back, he was brought through by his coach Keith Holiday & he was viewed for two seasons in the flood light cup by run by the bbc.
When I spoke to Keith he said he was not the best full back in attack but the rest of his game was first class, he encouraged him to play loose forward & taught him everything in that position , what more can you say other than we signed him & he was all action !
RIP, I have fond memories !
