Quote vastman="vastman"My fear is that no matter how hard a player tries sometimes they just can't get it back. Even by NRL standards PP is a monster so you have to wonder why nobody snapped him up - there must be a doubt in there.'"
I watched almost every NRL game when Pauli Pauli was with the Eels and he was, at that time, undoubtedly the real deal. His injuries were pretty devastating and my guess is that now he's fit again, NRL clubs will see him as a risk until he's proven otherwise; and unlike SL, they have an embarrassment of riches by way of monster forwards. That being the case, I'd suggest that he hasn't been picked up by an NRL club, but if he is back to full fitness and can regain his previous form, he certainly will be.
So, best case scenario, we get him for a year, he smashes SL to bits, then he goes back to the NRL to pick up where he left off; worst case - he never becomes the player he was pre-injuries. Definitely worth the risk though - he was a beast.
