Welcome to the NEW RLFANS.COM. After twenty-five years of service, the old site expired over the last few days. To maintain service we have had no option but to make an early switch to the new site which was in development/testing. Some elements of the new site are unfinished, such as; page numbering and quotations. We will fix these minor issues as soon as we can, please bear with us. If you are having problems logging in, please try a different browser or platform, if problems persist then email support@rlfans.com

Quote ="M62 J30 TRINITY"Do you think we'll hear anything soon? once the planning approval that's gone in for the warehouse comes back will that trigger anything? it would be a massive boost for the club in whats been a poor season on and off the pitch.'" />
why would it be a massive boost if the rumours re financial woes are true?
without a sucessful team its just another millstone i give you the evidence of coventry city, salford before the doctor, widnes and warrington without premier league team reserve games, doncaster, etc etc
oh well in the minority with that one too!!

Quote ="Khlav Kalash"The planning process isn't what's holding back the stadium development. It's funding. If anyone involved had 20 million sat in a bank somewhere it would be well on the way already.'" />
So what's the last x number of years all been about then, the Pickles years for example, are you saying if we had had 20 million all that time could have been avoided or did you miss my point ?

I thought we were complaining about the delay now. The Olypimic Park was built on brownfield site in a run down area of East London. Had it been in Hyde Park I'm sure it would've gone to a public inquiry, although the government wouldn't dare have let that stop the process.

It's all gone on so long I don't think I know what / we are I'm complaining about, certainly not about those who've worked so hard to get where we are.
Also, If you changed "process" to progress I think you would have been spot on re the government.

As I think everyone is now aware, there is currently a planning application lodged for a proposed large freezer unit at Newmarket. This is the first piece of what we all hope will be the fuller jigsaw taking shape, sooner rather than later. I know people are wanting news on the stadium development specifically and I understand the frustration, but this is significant news and we just need to let this first large piece of the jigsaw be put in place before we can start with the following pieces.
/>
What we can say is that Newcold are very serious & very positive about this site and, subject to planning of course, this is almost certain to happen and happen quickly. They have been looking for a site for a while and were looking at a few other sites in the region, but when they were shown Newmarket they decided straight away to focus on this one, as they believe this fit everything they are and have been looking for!
As Khlav has said, this proposed development goes the majority of the way to reaching a point where the stadium build would HAVE to start before any more other commercial development could take place and while it never was about reaching this 60% target BEFORE Yorkcourt would start (despite what is posted on another forum we know saying it did!), it always needed a reasonable level of serious interest in the site from end-users to get the ball rolling & commitment from Yorkcourts investors. This development, in many ways, is better than everyone could have wished for & they will have to build a large part of the site infrastructure needed for he whole development to facilitate their development.
/>
So, in light of recent news in respect of leadership at the club then I am sure TRB will be wanting to get an update meeting sorted sooner rather than later and hopefully we can give everyone some more stadium specific news, but things have not stalled, they are moving forward slowly but surely & that is still positive news.
