Hi all can anyone help me please? I collect challenge cup final programmes and the oldest one I have seen so far is the 1947 final between Leeds and Bradford Northern. I know the cup has been running many years prior to 1947 but this is as far as I can tell the first official programme. Does anyone know definitively that this is the first one or know of any older ones?

I think the first post war final was Wakefield Trinity v Wigan 1945/46 season. Anything pre-war sells for silly money, I've seen cup final programmes from the 20s and 30s go for anything up to £500 on ebay.

Yeah thanks mate it's funny you say that because I have just seen the official programme for the Wakey v Wigan 1946 final. There is the team sheet on eBay with signatures from the Wigan team also. Think they want £250 for it

There is a programme fair and auction this Sat morning at the south leeds stadium at 10.30 you can normally find something interesting there if you are a collector. The last one I went to someone had brought in CC final programmes from the twenties to the present day , all in mint condition and complete to 2000, he wanted a valuation and to sell them as a lot. When he found out what they could be worth he left.
