He means that he's actually becoming/will function as a Director of Hull FC rather than just being a head coach with a different title. He has also specifically ruled out any aspect of coaching rather emphatically and on more than one occasion - starting before he was even appointed.

You put great stock in what Hull FC fans are saying about Richard Agars departure, I suggest you visit the Salford board and canvass their opinion on Shaun McRae. Salford win ratio 25% again despite having John Wilkinson's money to build a ">squad.'" Why would we need to do that?
