Looks like the RFL have painted themselves into a corner with this one

. So what is the solution? Whatever they may decide the injured club will take action. As I said in a previous post run with 13 clubs (including Cougars) in the Championship next season and then balance up the 12-12-14 structure in 2016 by relegating 3 from Championship to Championship 1

. Seems the only way out to me that will cover all problems. Otherwise - law suits may be flying around all winter and the play-off's start on Sunday!!

There'll be some stressed out top brass at RL HQ this week trying work out how to dig themselves out of this mess. Can't really go with a 13 team instead of a 12 team Championship next year, as an odd number of teams would mess up their Championship Magic Weekend thing.

Make Batley sit out that particular weekend.

I've just seen the podcast and I can only say I hope the RFL have, feel suitably embarrassed and reinstate Keighley.



It's up to them to sort out the consequences and not just take the easy option of using Keighley as the fall guy yet again.
