Seam bowler who can bat a bit. Failed to complete a short-term contract with Surrey last season after breaking down injured.
Looked ordinary on his Surrey debut away to Glamorgan, then in his second match at Northampton he broke down injured while bowling in the first innings before scoring a career best 94 at a run a ball (batting with a runner I believe - that was on the second day of four and I was only there for the following day) to help Surrey to an innings victory. He'd been due to play one more game for Surrey before joining an Australia 'A' tour, but I believe he was ruled out of that in the end.

Yorkshire have Warwickshire at 94-3 despite fielding one of the youngest bowling attacks to wear the White Rose in a long while - Bresnan, Shahzad, Patterson, Hannon-Dalby and Rashid.

Seriously though, it pains me to say it but I can't look much past Durham again this year. Lots of fringe/international class players (Di Venuto, Harmy, Chanderpaul etc) along with some good local talent (from what I hear) coming through. />
Think the best Lancs can hope for is a decent crack at the T20 again. Hope I'm proved wrong though.

Chanderpaul has gone. Durham have no overseas player signed for this season as yet. But yes, they look like clear favourites to me with Notts probably the likeliest challengers, and maybe Hants if Kabir Ali & Simon Jones settle in and stay fit. (Obviously that's a big if in Jones' case.) />

Rashid seems to have fallen off the England radar entirely (after a couple of winters spent as Isotonic-wallah) and none of the batters are in danger of an international call at this stage in their careers.

It's absurd that (other than the championship istelf) clubs don't even know what they're playing for this season in terms of promotion & relegation, as the constitution of the Championship for 2011 won't be decided until near the end of this season. All that seems certain is it will no longer consist of nine two team divisions with all teams playing each other twice.
